Ms. Pamela Hughes Patenaude serves as Director of Housing Policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC). Ms. Patenaude has been Deputy Secretary of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development since September 2017. She served as an Executive Vice President and Founding Executive Director of the J. Ronald Terwilliger Center for Workforce Housing at the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Ms. Patenaude has over 25 years of experience in housing, public policy, community development and economic development. She has a wealth of knowledge, management skills and strategic leadership to HUD. Ms. Patenaude served as the White House liaison for HUD and as State Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Bob Smith (NH). She also served as Vice President of Manor Homes Builders, Inc., and on the Fannie Mae Affordable Housing Advisory Council. She began her career in housing with the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority. Serves as Member of Advisory Board at Community Development Financial Institutions Fund. She serves as a Trustee of the National Housing Conference.
Ms. Patenaude served as a Member of Policy Advisory Board at The Reinvestment Fund, Inc. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Anselm College and earned a Master of Science degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University.
